Don’t take time away from work (5)
I believe the answer is:
leave
'don't take' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'time away from work' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'away' could be 'a' (abbreviation as used in sports fixtures) and 'a' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'leve' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for leave that I've seen before include "Permission to do something" , "Depart on job holiday" , "Go - on holidays?" , "Break" , "retire" .)
