Double support for return match? (6,3)
I believe the answer is:
second leg
'double' is the definition.
I know nothing about this answer so I can't tell whether this works.
'support for return match?' is the wordplay.
'support' becomes 'second' (eg to second an idea is to support it).
'for' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other).
'return match?' becomes 'leg' (I can't explain this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'second'+'leg'='SECOND LEG'
Can you help me to learn more?
I've seen this clue in The Irish Times.
