Drink left abroad (4)
I believe the answer is:
port
This clue could be a double definition.
'drink' is the first definition.
(I know that drink is a is a kind of of port)
'left abroad' is the second definition.
'port' can be an answer for 'left' (left side of a ship - opposite of starboard). I'm unsure of the 'abroad' bit.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for port that I've seen before include "Wine - left - harbour" , "Grimsby, perhaps" , "Saint John, for one, > left" , "Harbour; alcoholic drink" , "Rio, perhaps" .)
