Drunk embracing the setter has to go on a spree (4,2,2)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

live it up

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'go on a spree' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'drunk embracing the setter has' is the wordplay.
'drunk' becomes 'lit up' (I've seen this before).
'embracing' is an insertion indicator.
'the setter has' becomes 'ive' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'litup' placed around 'ive' is 'LIVE IT UP'.

'to' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for live it up that I've seen before include "Enjoy oneself" , "paint the town red" , "Go on a spree" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
