Ross

I believe the answer is:

lenient

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'easy' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'nurse meets one breaking fast?' is the wordplay.
'nurse' becomes 'en' (abbreviation for enrolled nurse).
'meets' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other).
'one' becomes 'i' (Roman numeral).
'breaking' is an insertion indicator.
'fast?' becomes 'lent' (Lent is a period of fasting in Christianity).
'en' put after 'i' is 'ien'.
'ien' going inside 'lent' is 'LENIENT'.

'going' is the link.
I am not very happy about this link. It may belong to another bit of the clue.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for lenient that I've seen before include "Merciful or easygoing" , "Forbearing" , "Soft on the rules" , "Tolerant, rather than strict" , "Mild and tolerant" .)

I've seen this clue in The Independent.
