'e g' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot understand how one could define the other.

'christie's produce etchings lithographs etc in series' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'produce' could be 'print' (printing is a kind of producing) and 'print' is found in the answer.
'series' could be 'ser' (abbreviation for series) and 'ser' is found within the remaining letters.
No letters remain.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for sprinter that I've seen before include "Bolt, say" , "one running" , "One runs a short distance at top speed" , "One moves quickly" , "one in the 100 metres" .)
