Ross

I believe the answer is:

caviar

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'eggs' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both things that one consumes for nourishment as well as being singular nouns.
Perhaps you can see a link between them that I can't see?

'vehicle's collecting the latin way' is the wordplay.
'vehicle' becomes 'car' (car is a kind of vehicle).
'collecting' is an insertion indicator.
'the latin way' becomes 'via' (I've seen this in other clues. I am not sure about the 'latin' bit.).
'car' going around 'via' is 'CAVIAR'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for caviar that I've seen before include "Sturgeon delicacy" , "Sturgeon's roe" , "Fish roe" , "posh meal" , "Sturgeon eggs" .)

I've seen this clue in The Independent.
