ELP without Palmer still in prime? (6)
I believe the answer is:
eleven
'prime?' is the definition.
(eleven is a prime number)
'elp without palmer still' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'still' could be 'even' (synonyms) and 'even' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'el' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'in' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for eleven that I've seen before include "XI as Roman numeral" , "sports team?" , "Time for morning coffee" , "Not first team (6,6) - See 24" , "Number killed in the Peterloo massacre" .)
