grinding

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'endlessly oppressive' is the definition.
'grinding' can be an answer for 'oppressive' (thesaurus). I am unsure of the 'endlessly' bit.

'row good call to stop it' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'row' could be 'din' (both can mean a loud disturbance) and 'din' is found within the answer.
'good' could be 'g' (abbreviation) and 'g' is found in the answer.
'call' could be 'ring' (telephone call) and 'ring' is located in the remaining letters.
This accounts for all the letters.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

(Another definition for grinding that I've seen is " Wearing down or sharpening up".)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
