Crossword Genius

Enjoy title, initially genteel (8)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

ladylike

'genteel' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'enjoy title initially' is the wordplay.
'enjoy' becomes 'like' (like can mean to appreciate or enjoy something).
'title' becomes 'lady' (I have seen 'Female title ' mean 'lady' so perhaps 'title' could also mean 'lady').
'initially' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other) (some letters go before others).
'like' put after 'lady' is 'LADYLIKE'.

(Other definitions for ladylike that I've seen before include "Typical of a well-mannered woman" , "Decorously feminine" , "Genteel (not referring to gents)" , "In manner of genteel or titled woman" , "Appropriate to female decorum" .)

I've seen this clue in The Daily Express.
