European daily swallowing a drink (8)
I believe the answer is:
lemonade
'european daily' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't understand how one could define the other.
'swallowing a drink' is the wordplay.
'swallowing' becomes 'lemon' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'a drink' becomes 'ade' (I've seen this in another clue).
'lemon'+'ade'='LEMONADE'
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for lemonade that I've seen before include "Still or fizzy drink" , "Soft drink; Noel made (anag.)" , "This should refresh" , "it refreshes" , "Meal done (anag.)" .)
