Crossword Genius

Every second on pitch like a great show? (3-4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

all-star

'like a great show?' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'every second on pitch' is the wordplay.
'every' becomes 'all' ('all' can be similar in meaning to 'every').
'second' becomes 's' (common abbreviation).
'on' says to put letters next to each other.
'pitch' becomes 'tar' ('tar' can be a synonym of 'pitch'**).
'all'+'s'+'tar'='ALL-STAR'

(Other definitions for all-star that I've seen before include "Entirely comprised of top players/actors" , "Made up of top performers" , "Composed wholly of top performers" , "(Of cast or team) made up entirely of the famous" , "Made up of outstanding performers only" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
