Exciting home viewing reported (8)
I believe the answer is:
inciting
'exciting' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are present participle verbs, I cannot see how one could define the other.
'home viewing reported' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'home' could be 'in' ('he's home' can mean 'he's in') and 'in' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'citing' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for inciting that I've seen before include "Encouraging or stirring up, violence perhaps" , "Provoking or stirring up" , "Urging to action" .)
