Exclude the big-headed one (3)
I believe the answer is:
ban
'exclude' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'big-headed one' is the wordplay.
'big-headed' becomes 'b' (this might be a standard abbreviation of which I'm unaware).
'one' becomes 'an' (an apple is one apple).
'b'+'an'='BAN'
'the' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for ban that I've seen before include "Embargo" , "Censor or proscribe" , "Veto" , "outlaw" , "Hungarian governor < to forbid" .)
