Exploit delay in case of finance body (8)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

fuselage

'body' is the definition.
(I know that fuselage is a type of body)

'exploit delay in case of finance' is the wordplay.
'exploit' becomes 'use' (use can mean to exploit).
'delay' becomes 'lag' (lag is a kind of delay).
'in' is an insertion indicator.
'case of' means to remove the middle letters (outsides of).
'finance' with its middle taken out is 'fe'.
'use'+'lag'='uselag'
'uselag' going inside 'fe' is 'FUSELAGE'.

(Other definitions for fuselage that I've seen before include "part of plane" , "Central body of an aeroplane" , "is often up in the air" , "part of aircraft" , "Body of plane" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
