Famous ship is short of freight (4)
I believe the answer is:
argo
'famous ship' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'short of freight' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'of' could be 'o' and 'o' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'arg' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'is' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for argo that I've seen before include "Fabulous ship" , "Ancient ship" , "Agro about the constellation" , "Jason's craft" , "Ship Jason sailed to find the Golden Fleece" .)
