Fancy a whiskey, but not with her! (4)
I believe the answer is:
whim
'fancy' is the definition.
(both can mean a notion or desire)
'a whiskey but not with her' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'whiskey' could be 'w' (phonetic alphabet: alpha, bravo, charlie etc.) and 'w' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'him' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for whim that I've seen before include "Fad" , "Fancy, notion" , "Impulse or caprice" , "Sudden odd desire" , "Urge" .)
