Fate’s more peaceful, as some would say (5)

I believe the answer is:
karma
'fate's' is the definition.
(karma is a kind of fate)
'more peaceful as some would say' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'more' could be 'm' and 'm' is present in the answer.
'some' could be 'a' and 'a' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'kra' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

(Other definitions for karma that I've seen before include "Fate; result of one's past deeds" , "Hindu principle determining fate in re-incarnation" , "reaping what's sown" , "Buddhist principle of inevitable consequence" , "Lifetime's actions that set fate for next life" .)
