Feel remorse, the Continental way (3)
I believe the answer is:
rue
This clue could be a double definition.
'feel remorse' is the first definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'continental way' is the second definition.
'rue' can be an answer for 'way' (I have seen 'French way' mean 'rue' so perhaps 'way' could also mean 'rue'). I am not sure about the 'continental' bit.
'the' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for rue that I've seen before include "Regret - wild shrub" , "Bemoan" , "Regret in a French street" , "Lament; a herb" , "Deplore" .)
