Feeling unwell when you've got the pip? (5)
I believe the answer is:
seedy
'feeling' is the definition.
Both the definition and answer are adjectives. Perhaps they are linked in a way I don't understand?
'unwell when you've got the pip?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'pip?' could be 'seed' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'seed' is found within the answer.
A single letter 'y' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for seedy that I've seen before include "Grotty" , "Unfit" , "under the weather" , "Raspberry jam might be" , "Out of sorts" .)
