Fellow getting answer put first in the morning, turning crimson (7)

I believe the answer is:
magenta
'fellow getting answer' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both acts as well as being singular nouns.
Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?
'put first in the morning turning crimson' is the wordplay.
'put' is an insertion indicator.
'first in the' becomes 't' (gst letter of 'the').
'morning' becomes 'am' (as in ge:00 AM).
'turning' says the letters should be written in reverse.
'crimson' becomes 'gena' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'am' backwards is 'ma'.
'ma'+'gena'='magena'
't' placed within 'magena' is 'MAGENTA'.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for magenta that I've seen before include "puce" , "Light purplish-red" , "Light mauvish-crimson" , "A crimson dye" , "Purplish-red - battle" .)
