Female followers of CND (3)
I believe the answer is:
doe
'female' is the definition.
(female deer)
'followers of cnd' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'of' could be 'o' and 'o' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'de' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for doe that I've seen before include "possible mate for Rudolph?" , "A female deet" , "Last FA Cup winners" , "Animal" , "Feminine counterpart of stag" .)
