'sitcom' is the definition.
(US sitcom)

'fifth day of the week comes to a close' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'day' could be 'fri' (abbreviation for Friday) and 'fri' is found in the answer.
'close' could be 'end' (close can mean to end or finish) and 'end' is located in the answer.
A single letter 's' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

'with a' acts as a link.
