Fight over land, one’s taken away mineral (8)
I believe the answer is:
feldspar
'mineral' is the definition.
(feldspar is a kind of mineral)
'fight over land one's taken away' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'fight' could be 'spar' (sparring is a kind of fighting) and 'spar' is found within the answer.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for feldspar that I've seen before include "Large wading bird" , "Raw material used in glass-making, ceramics etc - red flaps (anag)" , "Rock producer" , "Common mineral" , "Abundant mineral" .)
