Finally find a descending path? (5,4)
I believe the answer is:
track down
'finally find' is the definition.
'track down' can be an answer for 'find' (I've seen this before). I am unsure of the 'finally' bit.
'a descending path?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'a' is present in the answer.
'descending' could be 'down' (similar in meaning) and 'down' is found within the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for track down that I've seen before include "what railway constructor needs to get" , "Finally discover" , "Find (something) after long search" , "path from the summit" , "railway's state after landslide?" .)
