Find to have been badly maintained (3,4)
I believe the answer is:
run down
'find' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'have been badly maintained' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'have' could be 'own' (to have something is to own it) and 'own' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'rund' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'to' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for run down that I've seen before include "Cut back on" , "In weakened health" , "Make exhausted" , "Disparage" , "under the weather" .)
