Finished? Then I accept the offer (4)
I believe the answer is:
done
'finished?' is the definition.
(both can mean completed)
'i accept the offer' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'i' could be 'one' (Roman numeral for one) and 'one' is located in the answer.
A single letter 'd' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'then' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for done that I've seen before include "Performed" , "Complete; finished" , "Thoroughly cooked; accomplished" , "See 23" , "This settled" .)
