“First-class meals” is right (9)
I believe the answer is:
starboard
'is right' is the definition.
(right side of a ship)
'first-class meals' is the wordplay.
'first class' becomes 'star' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'meals' becomes 'board' (I've seen this in another clue).
'star'+'board'='STARBOARD'
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for starboard that I've seen before include "One side of a ship" , "Right side at sea" , "Sailor's right" , "right to 14 [YACHTS]" , "Ship's right side" .)
