Crossword Genius

Fishy stuff indicating location of one's tipple? (9)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

isinglass

'fishy stuff' is the definition.
(gelatin from fish)

'location of one's tipple?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'one's' could be 'is' (Roman numeral) and 'is' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

'indicating' acts as a link.

(Other definitions for isinglass that I've seen before include "What's got from fish" , "Gelatinous substance from sturgeons" , "Some Muscovite" , "Gelatine" , "fish produce" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
