Fix contemporary, lacking in speaker’s art (7)
I believe the answer is:
diction
This could be a double definition.
'fix' is the first definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't see how they can define each other.
'contemporary lacking in speaker's art' is the second definition.
The definition and answer can be both related to communication as well as being singular nouns.
Maybe there's an association between them I don't understand?
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for diction that I've seen before include "One's manner of speaking or pronouncing words" , "Manner of enunciation" , "Mode of speech" , "Elocution" , "Way of speaking or pronouncing" .)
