doctor

'fix' is the definition.
(synonyms)

'entrance allowing court to enter' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'court' could be 'ct' (abbreviation used in road names) and 'ct' is present in the answer.
'entrance' could be 'door' (door is a kind of entrance) and 'door' is found in the leftover letters.
No letters remain.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for doctor that I've seen before include "Foster, Who, Jekyll or Livingstone" , "One seeing cases" , "Who, for example" , "Falsify; quack" , "An apple a day keeps him away" .)

I've seen this clue in The Independent.
