Flat replacement in corporation? (5,4)
I believe the answer is:
spare tyre
'corporation?' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'flat replacement' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'flat replacement' could be 'spare' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'spare' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'tyre' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'in' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for spare tyre that I've seen before include "sign of over-indulgence?" , "Middle-age spread" , "evidence of overindulgence" , "Extra fat around the waist" , "what motorist carries" .)
