Fleeing, then, or escaping, unfollowed (2,3,3)
I believe the answer is:
on the run
'fleeing' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'then or escaping unfollowed' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
an anagram of 'then' is 'nthe' which is located in the answer.
'or' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'un' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for on the run that I've seen before include "Fleeing the police" , "Fleeing arrest" , "Trying to avoid capture" , "Evading capture" , "Fleeing justice" .)
