Flier, bit of a laugh (4)

I believe the answer is:
lark
This could be a double definition.
'flier' is the first definition.
(lark is a type of bird)
'bit of a laugh' is the second definition.
'lark' can be an answer for 'bit' (I have seen 'bit of fun' mean 'lark' so perhaps 'bit' could also mean 'lark'). I'm unsure of the 'of a laugh' bit.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for lark that I've seen before include "jolly occasion" , "Flighty type" , "Bird; frolic" , "Early riser" , "Singing bird and piece of harmless mischief" .)
