Flush barrister has drink going all-out (4-5)
I believe the answer is:
full-scale
'all-out' is the definition.
(I know that all-out can be written as full-scale)
'flush barrister has drink going' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'drink' could be 'ale' (type of beer) and 'ale' is found within the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Another definition for full-scale that I've seen is " The same size as the thing represented".)
I've seen this clue in The Irish Times.
