Crossword Genius

Fool some water leakage (4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

drip

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

This might be a double definition.

'fool some water' is the first definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot understand how they can define each other.

'leakage' is the second definition.
(I know that leakage can be written as drip)

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for drip that I've seen before include "Intravenous administration of solution" , "Wimp" , "Fall in small amounts" , "Fall in small blobs" , "Small drop; ineffectual person" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
