Crossword Genius

For myself, the gold inlay is extra

Ross

I believe the answer is:

more

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'is extra' is the definition.
(both can mean additional)

'for myself the gold inlay' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'gold' could be 'or' ('or' is the heraldic name for gold) and 'or' is found within the answer.
'myself' could be 'me' and 'me' is found in the remaining letters.
No letters remain.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for more that I've seen before include "What Oliver wanted" , "Writer" , "Additional or larger amount" , "To a greater extent" , "author" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
