I believe the answer is:

aversion

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'dislike' is the definition.
(aversion is a kind of dislike)

'french lawyer senior becomes object' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
an anagram of 'senior' is 'ersion' which is located in the answer.
'object' could be 'v' (V is an example) and 'v' is located in the answer.
A single letter 'a' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

'of' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for aversion that I've seen before include "an object of dislike" , "A strong dislike or antipathy" , "Abhorrence - loathing" , "Strong disinclination" , "distaste" .)

I've seen this clue in The Hindu.
