Fruit roly-poly has 1p off (4)
I believe the answer is:
plum
'fruit' is the definition.
(I know that plum is a type of drupe)
'roly-poly has 1p off' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'1p' could be 'p' and 'p' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'lum' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for plum that I've seen before include "Dark-red fruit" , "Dark bluish-red - fruit" , "Juicy fruit" , "Shade" , "Prize" .)
