Further education class on computer work -- why it's monotonous (10)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

uniformity

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'further education' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both human attributes as well as being singular nouns.
Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?

'class on computer work why it's monotonous' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'class' could be 'form' (form class is a kind of class) and 'form' is found in the answer.
'why' could be 'y' and 'y' is found within the answer.
'it's' could be 'it' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'it' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'uni' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Another definition for uniformity that I've seen is " absence of change".)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
