I believe the answer is:
corroboration
'further evidence' is the definition.
'corroboration' can be an answer for 'evidence' (thesaurus). I'm unsure of the 'further' bit.
I don't understand how the remainder of the clue works.
(Other definitions for corroboration that I've seen before include "Confirmation" , "Further proof" .)
