Garden where partners had a fall (4)
I believe the answer is:
eden
'garden' is the definition.
(Garden of Eden in the Bible)
'partners had a fall' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'had' could be 'd' (in contractions e.g. 'I'd', 'you'd' etc) and 'd' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'een' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'where' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for eden that I've seen before include "Cornish garden; paradise" , "Our leader once" , "Place of complete bliss" , "project in the south west" , "5,27 [PRIME MINISTER]" .)
