Generosity is capital, say (8)
I believe the answer is:
largesse
This clue might be a double definition.
'generosity' is the first definition.
(I know that largesse is a type of liberality)
'capital say' is the second definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot see how they can define each other.
'is' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for largesse that I've seen before include "Generous disposal of gifts" , "Money or gifts generously given" , "Magnanimity, munificence" , "Generosity in gift-giving" , "Generous alms" .)
