Crossword Genius

Get away from two points on the headland (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

escape

'get away from' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'two points on the headland' is the wordplay.
'two points' becomes 'ES' (two compass points).
'on' says to put letters next to each other (in a down clue, letters appear on others).
'the headland' becomes 'cape' (I've seen this before).
'es'+'cape'='ESCAPE'

(Other definitions for escape that I've seen before include "Computer key" , "issue" , "Outlet" , "A key at top, on left" , "Leak; avoid" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish Independent.
