Crossword Genius

Gets out concealing feature works of art (8)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

etchings

'works of art' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'gets out concealing feature' is the wordplay.
'out' is an anagram indicator (out can mean wrong or inaccurate).
'concealing' indicates putting letters inside.
'feature' becomes 'chin' (chin is a kind of feature).
'gets' with letters rearranged gives 'etgs'.
'etgs' placed around 'chin' is 'ETCHINGS'.

(Other definitions for etchings that I've seen before include "Impressive marks obtained" , "Engravings" , "works of art" , "Artwork" , "Art prints" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
