Gets wind of change in New York on radio (6)
I believe the answer is:
scents
'gets wind of' is the definition.
('scent' can be a synonym of 'get wind of')
'change in new york on radio' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'change' could be 'cents' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'cents' is present in the answer.
A single letter 's' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for scents that I've seen before include "Distinctive odours, usually pleasant" , "Trails" , "Fragrances, smells" , "Essences and perfumes" .)
