Crossword Genius

Glow about to follow passion (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

lustre

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'glow' is the definition.
(I have seen 'Soft glow ' mean 'lustre' so perhaps 'glow' could also mean 'lustre')

'about to follow passion' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'about' could be 're' (regarding) and 're' is present in the answer.
'passion' could be 'lust' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'lust' is located in the answer.
This accounts for all the letters.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for lustre that I've seen before include "Rustle with shine on surface" , "number of years" , "Glory, distinction" , "Period" , "brilliance" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
