Go down or intimidate one over judge? (11)
I believe the answer is:
'go down' is the definition.
'deteriorate' can be an answer for 'go' (thesaurus). I am unsure of the 'down' bit.
'intimidate one over judge?' is the wordplay.
'intimidate' becomes 'deter' (I've seen this in another clue).
'one' becomes 'i' (Roman numeral).
'over judge?' becomes 'orate' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'or' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for deteriorate that I've seen before include "Become slowly worse" , "Get worse" , "decline" , "Become progressively worse" , "Grow worse" .)
