Crossword Genius

Go past the Cockney man here and there (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

passim

'here and there' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'go past the cockney man' is the wordplay.
'go past' becomes 'pass' (synonyms).
'the cockney man' becomes 'im' ('him' said with the 'H' dropped - a cockney accent.).
'pass'+'im'='PASSIM'

(Other definitions for passim that I've seen before include "(Lit.) throughout, everywhere" , "Throughout (a piece of writing) - frequently cited" , "At many points in book" , "(Of references) at various places through the text" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish Independent.
