God of cupidity? (4)
I believe the answer is:
eros
'god' is the definition.
(I know that Eros is Greek deity)
'of cupidity?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'of' could be 'o' and 'o' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ers' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for eros that I've seen before include "Arrow-shooting god" , "London landmark" , "Statue of love-god in Piccadilly Circus in London" , "Goddess" , "divinity" .)
